If you are confused on which board to opt for after your 10th grade, then answer is simple:
If you plan to pursue your bachelor’s degree in India, join an Indian board. It could be any State board, CSBE or ISC(ICSE).
If you definitely plan to pursue your bachelor’s degree abroad, the IB board is a good option in that case.
FAQ’s
Question 1: If I join an Indian board, can I still go abroad after 12th for my undergrad (bachelor’s degree?)
Answer: Definitely YES. Most universities in most countries abroad accept students from any board in India. Few universities in few countries may require additional tests to be given if you are from an Indian Board, but still admission is possible.
Question 2: If I join the IB board Indian board, can I still pursue my bachelor’s degree from an Indian college/university.
Answer: YES. Many universities in India accept the IB diploma equivalent to the Indian 12th grade exam, but not all. If you plan of keeping the option of joining an Indian university after your IB, please do some research on the university/program you wish to consider, to ensure that they accept IB diploma.
